TOKYO, SKY CAVE

This building in the heart of Tokyo is located next to the Meguro train station and faces a luxuriant park, a tiny forest beyond which Shibuya and Shinjuku can be seen.

The design by Ikawaya Architects expands over three floors. There is a clinic on the ground floor and two separate family residences on the upper floors. The apartment on the top floor enjoys a rare and very exceptional view for a city and its shape is also quite unique. The domed roof was a radical aesthetic choice that is, at the same time, functional because it ensures privacy as well as muffling the sounds from the nearby railway.

The living room of this refuge in the sky is bounded on one side by a large window that faces the greenery and on the other by a delightful roof garden. Centerpiece of the room is an enormous corner arrangement of the Wing sofa paired with a Hera armchair and Fly coffee tables. The same room also features a Thomas armchair with Jiff side table.

The Fly dining table is surrounded by Isabel dining chairs covered in saddle hide, the same material displayed by the Isabel stool placed next to the kitchen bar.

Outside, a cosy and intimate corner features the Thomas Outdoor armchair and Fly Outdoor side table.
