JAPAN, PRIVATE RESIDENCE
Living in nature while staying at home is the lifestyle theme of this fabulous private villa.
Stone, wood and glass were the materials of choice in crafting the home’s pure lines and spaces, designed to promote an authentic experience of communion with the surrounding natural landscape. High ceilings lend open airiness and allow the rafters to become bold geometric features that are both structural and decorative.
The spacious, light-filled living room was furnished to create two adjoining islands of relaxation.
In front of the TV is the stand-alone Este sofa, flanked by the Sveva armchair and its namesake ottoman. Completing the look are the Giano coffee table and, behind the sofa, the Giano console.
The second relaxation area features two roomy Cestone sofas with fabric upholstery in shades of ecru that contrasts nicely with the dark brown woven cowhide-clad frame. Placed in front of the sofas are different-height Fly and Cestone coffee tables and a Piuma cabinet. Two Peter armchairs and a Cabarè coffee/side table round out the decor.
The graceful, scaled-down proportions of the Crono chairs make them the perfect choice for the dramatic dining room. The solid Canaletto walnut structure of the chairs displays the kind of workmanship that clearly expresses the company’s ability to embrace historic Italian cabinetmaking traditions.
