Canada, “Courtyard Residence”

An open floor plan encourages seamless interaction between indoor and outdoor spaces.

The design for this private home is by the Canadian Secter Architecture + Design firm and was based on a thorough preliminary analysis of the client’s needs.

The concept includes an elegant arrangement of the rooms around four interior courtyards, designed to act as connectors between indoor and outdoor areas. Clad in limestone, the exterior facades lend an appearance of refined simplicity to the design that is also repeated on the home’s interior, where the limestone cladding alternates with plastered walls and custom-made wooden doors and furniture.

Soft Dream sofas paired with a Feel Good ottoman, Fly coffee and side tables and Plain side table were selected to furnish the spacious family room near the kitchen. A second living room is instead home to a corner arrangement of the Groundpiece seating system with Bangkok ottomans and Fly side tables.

Seating in one of the outdoor patios is provided by an Atlante sofa with Alison Outdoor armchairs, Zefiro Outdoor coffee table and Fly Outdoor side tables.
