AUSTRALIA, PRIVATE HOME
Sited in Manly, a suburb north of Sydney, this enchanting private villa was designed with a fusion of Australia’s Federation and typical Italian Mediterranean styles in mind.
Splashes of color and an elegance that transcends the bounds of time and fashion are the key elements of a project tailored to fit the client’s personality like a bespoke suit. The harmonious balance between the materials used and the seamless dialog between indoors and out radiates the allure of a calm, relaxing domestic oasis.
The minimalist decor of this delightful home has a classic feel, thanks to decorative elements like the ceilings, windows, arches and cornices revisited with a contemporary flair.
A common style thread flows through the interior design choices allowing the spaces to connect smoothly with one another.
In the living room, stand-alone Soft Dream sofas, designed by Antonio Citterio, upholstered in ecru color fabric, gain a glow of warmth with terracotta color decorative pillows. The two sofas are paired with a Brig coffee table with marble top and an Ascanio side table, both pieces with an aptitude for effortlessly adding understated elegance to any setting. Rounding out the decor is the refined Alison armchair, designed by Carlo Colombo, upholstered in exquisite dark brown leather, and the Bangkok ottoman/footstool with its finely tailored woven cowhide suede upholstery.
The Echoes chairs ‒ whose unexpected personality calls to mind echoes of bygone eras ‒ were selected to furnish the impressive dining room. A velvet-upholstered Newbridge bed is the unrivaled star of the primary bedroom, while the Lysandre armchair upholstered in rust-color velvet and the Guscio settee paired with the Fly side table create impeccable islands of relaxation.
